Initially our goal was to involve the women somehow in the project. But we were surprised when they started asking for courses or something that will improve their, seems to be, hopeless lives.
That’s how we started the Language center for the women. Initially we were giving English classes, but we started realizing that most of the women wouldn’t come because they were shy to say they are illiterate in Arabic, their mother language.
We came up with another idea: To teach written Arabic and Hebrew, since their tribe is located just a few kilometers from a Jewish city, where they go to buy groceries and clothes.
Also as we depth our friendships, we started also having some monthly meetings for arts and crafts, some lectures, or fellowship meetings just to bring our friends together for a few hours.
What a privilege to see the smile on their faces. Their satisfaction when they recognize some words for the first time.
